While these are designed for patent insurance, other types of intellectual property
insurance can be provided on a similar basis:
Intellectual Property Licence Revenue Protection
Insurance designed to cover loss of revenue streams from licensing agreements from core intellectual
property. This protects the balance sheet against loss of revenue due to core patent invalidity, infringement
or government intervention.
Intellectual Property Defensive Insurance
This covers legal costs plus damages arising out of the inadvertent infringement of third party intellectual property.
Technology Transfer Insurance
Deal-specific insurance which responds to intellectual property related liabilities (e.g. arising out of mergers
and acquisitions, licensing contracts, development agreements, initial public offerings).
